I am using SuSe 7.1 with kernal 2.4.0 The new version of lilo 21.6 can cope with booting partitions above the 1024th cylinder limit, but is it possible to get it to work with a hard drive other than hda? Problem is, my hard drive is on a RAID controller (IDE3) and recognised as /dev/hde I currently boot via a floppy disk, I have installed lilo in the MBR, boot sector of / partition, but each time it fails to load- completely. I dont even get a L or LI , just a flashing underscore. Hard drive is 30.7G,
partition 1 windows, other partitions all linux, can anyone help?

Many bioses only boots from the first hard disk, but some you can configure to search other disks to boot. So search your bios-menu's, and maybe you have to change your raid to the first controller.
