New Kernel, RAID-1, "Waiting for root file system"

Having trouble trying to build new kernels.

The problem is the "Waiting for root file system" one. I believe this is related to the fact that I have / on a 2-disk RAID-0 (reiserfs).

In the past I have successfully installed new kernels. I am currently on 2.6.15-27. I was unable to get 2.6.17 in some time ago, and now am struggling with 2.6.19.

When I look at my grub menu I see that the new kernel is using the same partition (/dev/md2) for root as all the other working kernels.

I am lost for what to do next. Please suggest.

Resolved! Had not enabled SATA support in kernel configuration.
