Network boot from USB stick

Have anyone created a Grub loader on a USB stick to boot from the network? I want my machine to be diskless and I do not want to use LiveOS using DVD/CD - I would like to have more persistant data in my databases. One example is to use KnoppixMyth image to boot from the network on a mediacenter machine.

well firstly i'd suggest you try not to use a device at all, so many boxes these days support PXE booting, meaning there is nothing at all you need to do on the machine, just make sure it tries to boot from a network.
