net-snmp with s/w raid

Hi,

Recently I started to play with net-snmp+MRTG. I'm able to setup CPU,n/w IO,buffers and cache, mem and swap usage.
But I'm stuck at monitoring disk I/O. I'm not able to get I/O stat for s/w raid partitions. Non-raid partitions works fine.

 Any ideas

Thanks,
Prasad.

Well, I don't use MRTG, but I know more about net-snmp than I ever wanted to know.

Your software RAID won't work with SNMP unless it is SNMP-aware. Is it? If it is, then someplace there is a MIB for it. Where is that? What does it say?

Hi Jiml8,

I'm running rhel4.7 and use mdadm for software raid.
How can I find if it is snmp aware? or how to make it snmp aware ?

Some add. info. about by setup :

To query the I/O stats, I added a line "disk /home" in /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file.
This works fine for the normal partitions but not for sw-raid'ed partitions.

Thanks,
Prasad
