Need to uninstall

Ive installed some programs that have failed to install with an error. When running make install I saw that this prog libmusicbrainz and musicbrainz went into a bunch of other dirs and installed itself in them. Id like to find these if possibleand remove em. Ive checked out find man and it doesnt seem to help me much. Im not a fan of the mans really... They dont explain well enough for a newb like me.

Im looking for a command that I could run from / directory and search all the other directories and show me where these two files were installed so that I can remove any instances of them from Linux. Any ideas?

Well, to search, the fastest way is to do (as root):

updatedb
[file dabase gets updated]
locate "file name"
[prints out every file/directory containing that name]

But if you want to uninstall it, very often you can run "make uninstall" in the directory of the source that you untarred.

A tip: If you get an error during "make" or "./configure", DONT proceed to "make install", this will just install broken binaries.
