need to recompile modules if i add something to kernel option?

i was missing
Generic PCI bus-master DMA support
which caused my hd to slow down..
i'm recompiling kernel now.
should i recompile module/ install them again?
since the dma support is included in kernel(not as module)
i guess i don't need to, but just curious..

thank you
