need to install slackware package to gentoo
I have 64bit gentoo on an AMD64 with 32bit compatability, but no ability to compile 32bit programs ( no cross compiler )
64bit mplayer cannot play any formats which require a win32 codec. so i have downloaded a pre compiled slackware package of mplayer 1.06. inside the archive, i have found a bin/ and lib/ folder, i dont want to mix these 32bit binary's with my 64bit binary's maybe i should put /bin/ in /opt. but where should i put the 32bit /lib/ files ? can i simply copy them to /lib32 ??? thanks . |
I wouldn't use a slackware package at all.
Check out the using 32-bit software section of the Gentoo/AMD64 Project Information documentation. |
