Need msdos based maxthink....
Honestly I have come to a dead end and it looks like I would not be able to win this one.
What I want is an older version of an application called maxthink. I want this maxthink to be dos based so that I can run this in a dosbox. I have been trying to look for the program for the past fortnight but with no success.
The newer versions of maxthink do not work well with wine. Adding more .dlls just makes matters worse. I do not want to install something made by microshaft just to run this app. I do not think running a virtual machine too is a good idea specially when I do not have enough hardware.
If anyone on the forum has any information about maxmind (dos based released a long long time ago) please help me. I would be very grateful if someone offers me any help on this.
Thanks for the read.

Hi SilverBack, Have you contacted the author/developer and asked if there is still an older version available for purchase? That would be my first course of action.

Umm... did mail the author but it seems like he is too busy to respond. The author by the way is neil larson (one of the creators of the web) so I really do not expect an answer from him.

Linux eqivalents would be mindmax (based on java). Then there is kdebasket which is ok but leaves much more to hope for.
People who have actually used maxmind swear it is the best way to map ideas and stuff.
Some freeware apps that are somewhat of a mind mapper are Essential PIM and they work perfect under wine in debian defaults.
But then again no application mentioned above has the power amd the simplicity of maxmind.
