Need help with password


Hy everybody, I heave a problem with my root acount on my SUSE 9.3 I installed it some time ago, and now I forgot the root pass, I can still use my system it logs in automaticaly in normal user mode, but I need to change some things so needed the password. Now I read many posts about that issiu , I downloaded DSL (damn small linux) start from the CD and got the DSL working, but I cant see any hard drives to change the shadow, file. Please help , with some more info , I also tryd to boot as linux singel. But then it keeps asking the root password.

Thank you , that one was realy good, it worked for me, the first simple solution didnt work , but the second one from the manual was perfect.
first I deleted also things in passwd file and after that I couldent login as root the root was gone , the system keeps saying no root user, but I just put the things back in the passwd file , and left the changes of shadow file and it worked. so now tomorow I'll change my lost password on the other mashine, this here is not that computer on wich I forgot the pass,
