so, just for queries in the interet it seems. usually, the systems already get configured for this case in the boxes. To start bind, just type on a Redhat-System /sbin/service named start or on a SuSE rcnamed start...this should already work...try it with the host or dig command
it seem doesn't work, when i type /sbin/sevice/named start, and then i checked the log messages it shown :
zone xxx.com missing "masters" entry
loading failure.
one question can anybody know my domain?
ex : i have doman xxx.com and i would like to setup in another office with domain hostname.xxx.com and be recognize in internet?
it is possible.....look for my threads about bind and ddns...there is one, where i posted my named.conf, dhcpd.conf (not necessary if you will do your domain by hand) and 2 zone definitions. copy-paste them and arrange at your needs, this should work....btw why not upgrading on newer versions of redhat and mandrake??
