need help to setup dns server with bind 9.1.0
anyone wanna help me to setup dns server?
please give a sample of the conf.

what is your need? a local DNS? a dynamique DNS? Need Forwarding DNS-Requests from your LAN to external Servers?

so, just for queries in the interet it seems. usually, the systems already get configured for this case in the boxes. To start bind, just type on a Redhat-System /sbin/service named start or on a SuSE rcnamed start...this should already work...try it with the host or dig command

it seem doesn't work, when i type /sbin/sevice/named start, and then i checked the log messages it shown :
zone xxx.com missing "masters" entry
loading failure.
one question can anybody know my domain?
ex : i have doman xxx.com and i would like to setup in another office with domain hostname.xxx.com and be recognize in internet?

it is possible.....look for my threads about bind and ddns...there is one, where i posted my named.conf, dhcpd.conf (not necessary if you will do your domain by hand) and 2 zone definitions. copy-paste them and arrange at your needs, this should work....btw why not upgrading on newer versions of redhat and mandrake??
