need help installing xerox printer driver on RH9

I am fairly to the linux envrioment. I have managed to install RH9. Since RH9 did not have a driver for my printer Xerox Phaser 7700 - i got a driver from the xerox site.

When I run the setup script, i get an error saying:

"ERROR: could not find system commmand 'uncompress' "

Does anyone have any idea how to go about this?

what driver do you have?

Are you sure it's for linux

if so try this

ln -s /usr/bin/compress /usr/bin/uncompress

I tried your suggestion, but I get a 'No such file or directory' when I run setup again.

I am sure its a linux driver - its file name is Linuxi386XPXX_3.01.23.tar
and it can be downloaded from here:
