Cool Need help in Resizing

Hi,
I installed winxp and redhat 7.1 in my machine. earlier i try to install winxp in a 5gb primary andendedup with mess cause redhat won't boot due to some big probs ( i assume 1024 cylander prob) so i partion it to 2047Mb and installed winxp in there and then configured other partion to redhat 7.1 nowthe prob is ok.
But now my new prob is that I'm running out of disk space in winxp partion and i want to resize the partion without loosing the data nd dual booting. Is this partion agic gonna do this to me? if i make the 2 gb to 5gb will redhat will work correctley? before that is it a good idea to upgrade the linux kernel so that it'll try to correct in this cylander prob? pls let me know if somebody gone through this cause I've alredy formatted my hard disk more than 20 times not and really fedup.
Thanks
