MySql remove or update?

Hi
I'm currently running RH7.3 with MySql 3.23.49.
My developer requires 3.23.57. When I do rpm -i mysql, it says failed dependencies:conflicts with 3.23.49. When I try to uninstall the current version, I get a list of other packages that are dependent on 3.23.49.
What are my options? I just want to update 3.23.49 to 3.23.57. Thanks.

Well, less errors but...

MySQL-server conflicts with mysql-server-3.23.49-3
libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by (and then it lists a bunch of other files)
sqld is not running at this point

Is this copy&paste? If so, how come the
spelling (caps) differs? Got an rpm for the right
distro/version?

Cheers,
Tink

haha sorry, it's not a copy/paste just a retype.
I'm running RH7.3, I think it just came with 3.23.49-3.
I got the 3.23.57-1 rpm from www.mysql.com and from the Linux x86 RPM downloads section.
My server is a Dell PowerEdge 2650, dual Xenon 2+ GHz processors.

Ok, I just rpm -e all the packages it was complaining about and rpm -i the new package. Hope that worked...
