MySQL memory usage

Hi all,

I am running a mySQL database version 5.6 and the system has 128GB ram in it. it has 8GB of swap space.

Now mySQL seems like eaten up 5G of swap out of 8G. Is there any query which will show which table/query might ate that and not releasing.
In what cases mySQL tends to use swap space even though so much RAM is available.

btw, tmp_table_size is not set.

Thanks in advance.

How is your my.cnf file configured?

You might have to reduce "max_connections", sometimes it is not a table but the connection pool that is eating memory.

how to find that out that connection pool is eating memory?

I know mysql is using swap but need to find out how its using that and where its getting located/allocated.

will try max_connection by reducing.

It might also be worth a quick look into https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7...query-log.html
