My RedHat can't refresh..help
Hello all,
My linux got a problem.for example if i open a window in my home dir :/home/sonix/,and I download a file to this dir.the file won't appear untill i
click the refresh button at the toolbar.the problem also appear at desktop,if the trash is empty,and now i delete something into it, the icons of it doesn't change,leaving it empty.Before
all this problems appeared,I just shutdown some system serves to accelerate boot.I think the problem may concern with some deamon process,but i don't know exactly what.
SomeBody Please Help me.

You need to make sure that you have the fam daemon is running if you are using GNOME. I'm not sure what the solution is if you are using KDE.

It should be already installed if you are using GNOME. I have heard of problems with FAM and some newer Linux distros don't use it anymore.

the problem still exists.I start sgi_fam, but it seems doesn't work.
