Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

my name is frank delgado and i'm a student at Cal State Fresno. In my course title New Information Technology we are doing a mock-proposal type presentation. The assignment is to present a new technology to a "client" which will be the class....i have chosen to present a Linux-based system to a business where their main usage consists of Office Suite-type software.
I will give all of my classmates a copy of OpenOffice on CD to take with them, and part of our twenty minute presentation will include a step-by-step walk-through on installing the software to a Windows-based system. I figure that if i put it in people's minds that i'm GIVING them software that is NOT pirated, AND that they can either copy or pass along to a friend....it will give them a tangible concept as to what open source is all about....
i'm actually SO enthused about the information that i've discovered about Open Source that i'm assembling a group locally whose purpose would be to attain "obsolete" boxes from businesses and individuals, equip the computers with Linux OS and software and get them to underpriveleged schools whose computer access is limited.
I also wanna get some geeks (like me) to TEACH a parent, older brother/sister, or even an actual STUDENT the absolute BASICS of some IT work (installation of software, setting up networks, etc) at the school sites. Linux enthusiast groups would even pop up from elementary to high school levels.....i mean, can you see how this could be an awesome thing?!
This, I figure, will put Linux at the hands of a younger generation and will make them eager to see (and take a hand in) its expansion. It will also make people a little more comfortable with the concept of an OS that is neither PC or Mac...this is still ABSTRACT to a lot of people...seriously
Sorry to drop such a fat post...but i figure that i would explain my ideas in detail to give you and idea as to where i'm comin' from...
First of all, you double posted this in which you already said all of this in your apologies thread. Closing this thread.
Second of all, in the future when posting such threads that come off as advertising at first and the original thread is closed, with a mentioning of email the moderator, you should email the moderator before posting it again.
Regards.
PS. I'll be moving your other thread out of Success Stories as its not a Success Story.
