my del button gives a ~


when i use konsole with kde... i press the del button and i always get a ~... how do i make it delete?

also: the delete button works fine in the regular text only mono terminal and with editors and web browsers...

Well, all I can say is certain programs use delete and and some don't, and that's that. Unless some one wants to prove me wrong.

mysterious...

seems to be the only problem ive had with linux for my short time using it...

sometimes funny things happen...like the del button works and sometimes it decides not to :-) but if anyone knows what to do with something like that gimme a solution

Hi
This could be a variation on the backspace key/delete problem (check www.linuxnewbie.org theres a backspace nhf there, which didn't help me!).
I was going to look at xkeycaps

http://www.jwz.org/xkeycaps/

but things sorted themselves out (just can't backspace on login).

yeah same here...
