My computer doesn't boot my cd

Hello everybody,

I am using and I will try another distrobution Gentoo.
I Download the Live cd of the Gentoo site and burn it with K3b as ISO. Then I start my Computer my first boot device on CD then I reboot my computer and it don't works. With Ubuntu I don't have problems that boot on. Gentoo was not installed yet. there comes at starting up stand:

Boot:

GRUB loading...
Starting up...

Can anybody help me please ?

Did you check the md5sum to verify the disk is OK?

Are you using new hardware? The liveCD is really old by Linux standards (almost a year) so it may not be able to recognize newer hardware? In which case you could use small gentoo. That's what I had to do. But: small gentoo is NOT a liveCD, it is just an installer. This means you'll first have to build the whole system before you get to use it - and that will take several days...
