.mpg/.avi players for Linux?

Does anyone know a couple of good players that will play avi files and mpg movies? I'm having trouble finding anything that will work thus far.

I'm using RH8.0 and you would think there would be something on here to already do that but I can't find it.

Thanks for the help!

Xine rules and mplayer is it's queen.Besides put both on there is always the odd video that won't work on one and does on the other one.

only if you can't use mplayer properly.

RealOne Player is now on linux! Very easy to use and DivX compatible!!

I've tested xine once, unmerged it and then merged mplayer. I've had no problems showing any of the standard movie formats. Though I suggest you read the manual pages or online documentation. There's a lot of nice tricks (-:

I have both mplayer and xine, I use xine for playing DVD's through my pci dvd decoder card to my tv with full onscreen (tv screen) menu support with my remote control (connected to a serial port using lirc), everything else video is done with mplayer.
And btw, I have full 5.1 sound with my dvd's too (emu10k1).
