I just burned my first CD on linux 2 minutes ago...I know I know, please hold the applause :) ...and I use XMMS to convert the mp3s to wav. In preferences -> Audio I/O plugins under Output Plugin chose Disk Writer. Then click configure and you can pick a fold to save the wav files to. I had to install the plugin using software manager....

It works fast and is fairly easy, just don't forget to change the Output Plugin back if you want to listen to music again.

Cheers.

Ahh, I didn't realize that acid! I just used gnometoaster, do you know if that program converts them itself?
