Mozilla Browser Works -- Firefox Doesn't

I've got Mandrake 10.1 installed on two different pc's. In both cases Konqueror and Mozilla Browser work fine, however Firefox doesn't work at all.

When Firefox is launched, immediately get an Alert box:
"$site name$ could not be found. Please check the name and try again."

Almost seems like I don't have an internet connection, when in fact I do.

Any one else have this problem ?

You might have a buggy "beta" version. Have you tried it with "firefox 1.05"?

Dont know about Firefox 1.07
but according to this page
http://www.mozilla.org/security/
1.05 is out
and so is 1.04

you can download the RPM for Mandrake 10.1 for firefox 1.04
from here
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html

its about 5 Megs so may take a while on dial up

download the RPM to a folder in your mandrake setup
then add that folder using the MCC media manager
uninstall your current firefox
and then install the RPM of 1.04

any questions just ask
floppy

1.0.7 was a typo, sorry, it's actually 1.0.6. (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)
