moving large files
 

I need to move all user files from one server to another. I have several .tar.gz files from 2Gig to 6Gig.

Can I ftp these from one server to another (same LAN), or is there a size limit on ftp.

Also, I have backup tape with all the .tar.gz files. I could use that, but that would be slow. Ccan I use wild card (for example tar -xf /dev/st0 *.*) ?

Well if this helps answer your question.. I've FTP'd 15 GB worth of ripped movies from one server of mine to the other with no problems.. ;)
