Moving & Resizing partitions...?

I have the room to backup my /usr to my /home partition....and still make it smaller.

Right now /usr is on my / partition.

I would like to resize /home then use the extra portion to make a /usr partition.

...Then move my backed up /usr from /home to the new /usr.

Is this possible?

If so then I have further plans.

grab a program called parted

www.google.com/linux

search for it in there and it'll come up...that program works like a dream...only prob is, you'll have to run it via a linux boot disk or something as you can't resize mounted partitions...(believe me, i ignored their warnings and tried it...not a good thing, heh)

I was hoping to do it via the Mandrake DiskDrake...from the Install CD.

I have done similar before but never with data on the partitions.
