Moving a server

I have a server running RH 8 and I want to move everything to my Fedora 3 server. The database data is not a problem; instead I would like to get suggestions about the password and group files (I would remove the shadow files by putting them into the password and group files) and all of the entries in /home.

I've moved accounts to new servers, copying their shadow, group and passwd file entries over without any problems.

Do you selectively move the passwd and group files? Can you give some detail of how you have done it?

Many thanks....

I didn't have a massive amount of users, a simple copy and paste actually worked into the new files on the new server. I guess you could write a script to copy over, strip out what you want or need to migrate but since I could just select all the users in one window.. copy and paste from one terminal to the other was no problem and quicker..
