Mouse Jerking in X

I got a new keyboard and mouse yesterday and they work fine in Windows. This morning I reinstalled Getoo and they seem to work fine but the mouse doesn't move "smoothly" in X. It seems to jerk. I know it's nothing to do with graphics acceleration or graphics in general because windows move fine and glxgears runs fine without jerking. I reckon it'll be something to do with the DPI on the mouse. The first thing I noticed about the mouse in Windows was that it moved faster than my previous mouse and I had to slow it down. Just in case it makes a difference, the mouse and keyboard are USB wireless (Creative Desktop 6000 to be exact).

Please help,

Darrell

Use 'xset m [number1] [number2]'

Nope that doesn't work. It makes the mouse move faster/slower but it still jerks while moving. It's kind of like an animation that's missing frames. Say I'm moving the mouse from point a to point b there should be so many steps inbetween a and b to make the animation look smooth but it seems to miss them out and just show a and b or maybe one or two inbetween.
