mouse/gpm issue

i am having a problem with the gpm feature....when i first boot up the mouse works perfect in the console....but if i start X then exit back into the console it doesnt work right....basically it doesnt work at all, just by moving the mouse a little will start enter random text, clicking by it self, etc. Does anyone know anything about this??? -thanks

most likely your best option is to turn gpm off slack has a warnign about this when you install run mouseconfig to change it

you using a ps/2 scrollmouse?
