I have installed Linux Mandrake 7.2 on my desktop computer. The mouse cursor under X is useless because it jumps to random spots at randome times when the cursor is moved.

When I move the mouse the cursor may move about 200-300 pixels before it jumps to a different spot on the screen. Buttons also click without pressing the buttons.

I have a serial mouse and a bus mouse with the propor drivers both with the same effect.

My motherboard is a ASUS KT133. Both mice work fine when running windows98.

Help!!!! Should I buy a USB mouse?
Thanks

Do you use KDE in Mandrake?

If so you can goto the control centre, and under Hardware there is a section called mouse where you can setup the config of the mouse (such as speed etc..)

You may be able to set it there. Also, check with DrakConf that you have set up the correct mouse.
