Is there a difference between the user/users options in mount? What about if I'm using cifs (which looks like it has its own user option). Does the mount user option break?
The difference is with "user", only the same user who did the mount can umount the fs. With "users" anyone can umount it. Not sure of the cifs specifics, many filesystems have their own options and behavior
