mount:/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device

When I mounting my floppy drive by the command : #mount /mnt/floppy
I found the following ERROR message

mount:/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device

May anybody tell me how to fix this problem !

Thank you !

I suspected that my problem came out. Because I set the wrong options in my /etc/fstab. It lead the system delete my directory /mnt/floppy and the entry of /dev/fd0 in the /etc/fstab. Although I tried manualy create the /mnt/floppy directory and add an entry about my floppy. It still in vain.

I assume you have a floppy inside.. right?
maybe you could post what settings you have in the fstab for the /dev/fd0

It did not work for me either. But if I entered
"mount /dev/sda /mnt/floppy" or "mount /dev/sda /mnt/thumb It mounted the floppy????
