mount .bin file

I am trying to mount a binary file to my cdrom drive so that I can watch a movie. When I had windows I used to use an emulator to do this, so I know it is possible, but I can't seem to get the linux command to work. Here is what I am trying, and the error I am getting (FC2)... Any suggestions appreciated.

# mount -o ./file.bin /mnt/cdrom
mount: No medium found

what do you mean mount onto your cdrom? Are you trying to burn it on the cd?

The mount command is used to mount a device (like a cdrom or floppy drive) to a directory.

Why are you trying to mount a file to watch it?

No, actually I'm trying to mount it so I can play the movie. The movie is in .bin format. It has a .cue file that comes with it too. In windows I would just use an emulator to mount the .cue file and then tell the movie player to play the mounted file, but I don't know the command in linux... Thanks again!

I think you're trying to perform a loopback mount, but I don't know what filesystem is in the .bin file.

For an ISO (the usual use of loopback mounts), it is:
Code:
mount -o loop -t iso9660 /my/iso/file.iso /my/mount/point
