Motorola Cell Phones on Linux - Problem Solved!

I have a RAZR v3 phone. I used to use Bluetooth to transfer pictures and music to/from it. Then I switched to Linux. I was lost without BT support. (Later I did get BT working, but that doesn't matter here...) I googled "motorola razr v3 linux" and found my dream utility: moto4lin. Moto4lin, after ONE setting change (It was looking for my phone's USB on /dev/usb/acm/0 but dmesg told me it was actually /dev/ttyACM0) accessed the ENTIRE contents of my phone, rather than the 3 folders that BT had given me access to. So, you Linux Moto users out there, try using moto4lin. It works great!

I don't know if that would work. You'd have to google "moto4lin wiki" to get to the moto4lin website. Somewhere in there, there's a list of the compatible phones.

Plug in your phone and promptly open a terminal and type, as root, "dmesg|tail" and that should tell you what device it is. Should be something like /dev/ttyACM0.
