MOTD Text

I was wondering if anyone knows how hard or even possible it is to have Linux generate the MOTD in bold & or colored text? I would like to MOTD to stand out a bit from the rest of the terminal text.

Thanks for any assistance.

Check this sequence of instructions:

echo -ne "\033[1;34m" ; echo "This is a test" ; echo -ne "\033[0m"

First of them instructs the terminal to set the bold atribute of the fonts AND to change the color of the fonts to blue. The second just echoes some text and the third resets the terminal attributes. If you want to know more, just "man console_codes" then go to the section "ECMA-48 Set Graphics Rendition". There you'll find the full list
