more then one app using sound

ok i didnt know if i should put this in hardware or software couse its kind of both so i put it here and hopfully yall can help me

heres what i want todo i have sound working i used OSS/ALSA but i want to be able to listen to mp3s on xmms or amarok while playing say counter-stike in cedega

oh im using mandriva 2006

You need to use Alsa's mixer, Dmix, or install Arts or Esound. Google will explain how to do this ;)
