I am kind of new with linux and not new. I have tried to switch from windows to linux.

What I would like is to have an easy life with linux like with windows. I mean that I don't want to spend all my time and to install program like in windows.
rpm control center is nice for this with rpm coming from mandrale distribution. But I would like to find other software to install easily without all the problem of dependences.

So are there website or something else that list or give all rpm for mandrake?

You can use RPMFind.
From here you can choose your distribution [Mandrake for example] and find RPM's. Other search options are included too.

Try not to use rpmfind. Use Mandrake software repositories via urpmi (Mandrakes default package manager). To find out more about urpmigo to zebulon.org.uk and for instructions on setting it up go to easyurpmi.

BUT it seems I need to have my linux system connected to internet and I don't have internet at home. I use internet to my working office.

That's one of many reasons it makes me mad to go home and not to have everything needed many times.

It is not possible to have a simple adress where you can see and download software for a distribution? Or to buy a CD if it is not too much expensive for just a distribution? Something like this

There's mangazine but they give lot of thing for many versions you don't need, etc but I don't really now. I also check on mandrake website but they sell more linux with sotf and I just want software

If you had read the instructions from the links i posted you would have found out that there are a lot of mandrake rpm repositories from which you can get software from. If you use urpmi, the process is automated and all dependencies are automatically resolved. It has a gui called rpmdrake (software management tool) which you can use to view installed packages and those that are available for installation as well as install and deinstall packages.

If you just download packages from third parties, you may end up having dependency problems, making package installation a pain. In extreme circumstances you can even break your system particularly if the rpms are not pecifically desinged for your distro. you can go ahead and use sites like rpmfind, but at your own risk. You can also grab source package from sourceforge and freshmeat.

Buf at present my opinion is that if it is needed to get software just from the distribution not to have any problem, it is not going to help and it's not better than windows.

Like I said you can get software elsewhere, but you have to know exactly what you are doing to make sure that it installs okay and you don't mess up your system. It is different from Windows and probably better because Mandrake comes with thousands of packages (so do other distros) if you configure urpmi. You won't find such a number of packages readily available for your system in just a few clicks on Windows.
