Monitor memory usage via graph

Hi,

Thank you LQ for all the previous helps. You guys have been a great help.

We have developed an intranet application in php. We now need to add a realtime graphical display of memory usage, something like task manager in windows. How can this be implemented ?

Thanks in advance.

well you've not said anything about what distro or anything, but gnome and kde both contain "task manager" clones if that's exactly what you're after.

Well, probably ksysguard, the kde 'task manager clone (klone?)' mentioned above is probably the closest to the windows task manager.

In fact, ksysguard is 'better' than the windows thing in that you can configure it to do more things, but various of the kde 4 versions have been a bit shaky, so either use the very most recent kde4 version that you can get or an old kde 3.5 version.

Of course, if you are determined to make this task harder, you could always write your own reading and displaying information found in /proc, but that seems unnecessary.

My apologies !!!!!!

We are using Fedora release 8 and Apache 2.2.8 We have build clusters for distributed processing and developed a portal in php mysql for users to submit jobs. We plan to have a link in the portal which will display the real time memory usage graph like the one displayed by the windows task manager, of the server which houses the portal and the nodes which form the clusters.

Saying "like in task manager" is really not useful... you actually mean you want centralized monitoring of memory usage on multiple servers? Maybe you want to use just one of a hundred snmp capable monitoring servers, like nagios, cacti, zenoss, opennms, groundwork, hyperic, opmanager and such.
