modularising snort


I am having the source code for snort.
I have to modularise it into four modules.

sniffing -> packet capture

Analysis -> packet decoder and preprocessor's

Decision -> detection engine

Reporting -> Output plugin

I dod'nt know how to do it. Any idea ? please help me
