modprobe usbserial (Konsole Freezes)

Background
I have installed a Sprint Novatel Ovation 720 USB modem on OpenSUSE 10.2. The modem requires the following script on start up to make it work before launching KPPP:

Konsole:

Code:

modprobe usbserial vendor=0x1410 product=0x2110
Problem
Yesterday, I rebooted my computer and when I was back into OpenSUSE 10.2, I tried the same script in the Konsole window, and the Konsole just froze. After I typed the script, I pushed Enter. Then the cursor went to the next line and just blinked as if nothing had happened. Any consequent keyboard strokes did not appear in the Konsole.

Questions
(1)Why did Konsole freeze?
(2)What is the location of the startup scripts file so that I can automate this process?

in opensuse 10.2 you'll find the startup scripts here - "/etc/rc.d" , as for why konsole froze - i have not a clue!

Thanx for the location of start up scripts.

I have experienced Konsole freeze in Kubuntu as well. It's definitely annoying when you enter a perfectly valid command that worked right before reboot.
