Question modifying .Xresources

If I made some changes to .Xresources configuration file, how can I make it effective without rebooting the machine? Should be a command there to do this.

Thanks.

You should just be able to restart X. Something like:

Control+Alt+BackSpace

I did the changes remotely using vnc from my windows machine. Therefore ctrl+alt+backspace wouldn't work. I am looking for the command that I can type in the xterm window.

Any other options? thanks.
