Hi I'm new here and if I have posted in the wrong area my apologies.

I am using Mandriva on an athlon system with 512Mb ram 80gig HDD. I have windows on c: and linux on e:

My modem is a speed touch 330 usb I have downloaded the drivers from source forge in both rpm and tar.bz2. I have run the connection wizard and initially set it to collect the windows drivers, it failed to find them (but they are there as I checked the file names myself) next I used ark to unzip the files to a floppy and tried again, no joy. I then run the the rpm and it said that the files were installed. However I was still unable to run the modem. Next I copied all the files to usr/share/speedtouch/ still no joy. The one other thing is that the wizard said to load the files in mgmt.0 in usr/share/speedtouch/. Now I am lost, I only loaded the system yesterday so I guess you can't get any newer than me. Any help (not to arcane please ) will be gratefully received.

Found the answer to the driver problem here linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/mandrake/index.html. Sorry I cant put the link but just add the normal front end
