mkinitrd

I have slackware 8.0 with kernel 2.4.9-16

I have all hardware built into kernel including ext3 fs support. Now I want to convert to ext3 fs. I need to make an initrd image file for /

How should I do it?
Do I need mkinitrd?
Is there a version of it for Slackware?

thanks

update

cat /proc/mounts shows ext3

and mount shows ext3

but I do not have an initrd line in my lilo.conf

also initrd is built into kernel.

Does it work without initrd in lilo if it is built into kernel?

It looks like it does.

Seems to be ext3 so I guess it is.
