missing folder

i am having the usual problems installing video drivers for ati...

i managed to get it almost done, when i stumble over a problem i didn't find anywhere else.

when i try to "sh", i get an error that says :

/usr/share/doc/kekernel includes at /usr/src/linux/include not found or incomplete
file: /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h

and here is the problem: the folder /usr/src/linux is missing alltogether. how can i make it appear, or how can i get around it?

Hi thebblack, welcome to lq. It looks like you need to install your kernel source.
good luck.

" /usr/src/linux/ " is normally a link to the sources of the kernel you're using.
so, if you have the source installed ( like /usr/src/linux-2.6.9 ; 2.6.9 being your kernelversion ),
make the link: ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.9 /usr/src/linux
that's it.
