mismatch with /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow

When I try and create new users on my F2 machine via the GUI not the terminal I get this message when I load the program. . . .

"The user database cannot be read. This problem is most likely caused by a mismatch in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. The program will now exit."

I can still create users the traditional way, but I would like to figure out what the problem is. I looked at both the files and I don't understand what could be mismatched. Please Help.

Solution found

I found the solution. . .

There was an extra guest account in my shadow file that was not in the passwd file. Just removed that line from the shadow file and there you have it.
