Hey guys I am new to linux and just installed redhat 8.0 and tried to get online with it, unfortunately when I booted it up it refused to update or do anything online. My friend who knows about linux came down to help me and we both have no idea why things are messed up. I then installed RH 7.3 (which is what I still have running) and tried it with no avail. I looked into the network configuration and stuff and it finds the card and even the DNS servers but I still can't get online!?!?! what's wrong? My friend said maybe its the nic card and its a working nic card but he said maybe RH just doesn't like the specific kind. If you can give me any suggestions of things to try I would really appreciate it.
