md5sums

For some reason, the FTP site that I downloaded a distro from wont let me access the md5sum. It says that I don't have access. If I get a md5sum from another ftp site claiming to have the same distro will it be OK? Or do I have to get the md5sum from the site that I downloaded it from?

Thanks

Just look for a "mirror" if you can find one it goes without saying it mirrors information so its the exact same.

You can get it off any other FTP so long as they are the same release, version, distro and made for the same architecture etc.
