MBR problems

is there a reason why fixmbr won't work. i just removed my linux harddrive and now only have my windows. problem is, lilo was my bootloader and now i can't access windows. i did fdisk /mbr and went to the recovery console and did fixmbr and fixboot and nothing.

i'm not dropping linux, i have it on my laptop but needed the harddrive from my desktop.

thanks

I use the Mandrake 9.2 CD 1 as a rescue disk... you just type rescue at the LILO prompt, then it gives you a choice of things to do, including reinstalling the Windows bootloader.
