Mandrake 9.1 and booting process
I went into the Mandrake Control Center on 9.1 and in the "Boot" area. I was wanting to make the change so it auto displays my name for user and I want it to choose Gnome as my session type.
Presently the user is blank and it defaults to KDE for the session type. When ever I try to make the changes in control center it asks for the #1 cd so it can install something however it asks for the cd located at /dev/cdrom and my cdrom is actually /mnt/scd0. Is there anyway to change this so control center looks for /mnt/scd0. It gives no place when it asks to put the cd in to direct it to a differant area...it just asks for /dev/cdrom automatically. any help would be appreciated. |
I got it...in control center I just changed the mount point to /dev/cdrom. When it asks for the cd the cd player opens but for some reason now it's not accepting the #1 cd. It just continuously ejects it and asks for #1. I tried putting in all three cd's and all are rejected. :(

I am not sure on Mandrake but perhaps you could make a soft link to the correct file. Something like this:
ln /dev/cdrom /mnt/scd0 This might work I think, i use redhat but shoudn't be too different regards |
