I am currently running Mandrake 8.2 and I have created an encrypted partition. When I try to upgrade to 9.0, fsck seems to be run on the encrypted partition; this fails of course and the upgrade gets aborted. How can I persuade the installer not to do this check?

Presumably you don't want to install anything onto this partition? If you install in expert mode you can choose which partitions to check and which to leave.
Thanks for the reply. Actually, I tried expert mode but still couldn't get past the check on my encrypted partition (which happens before DiskDrake gets going, I think). However, I tried commenting out the fstab line referring to the partition and everything was fine. After the upgrade, I just reinstated the line and all was well.
