Mandrake 9.0 and Win2K Dual Boot

Hello all.
I am new to Linux and I'm having problem with Mandrake.

I downloaded Mandrake 9.0 and installed it on my PC. Everything was fine until I restarted. When I restarted the computer, it went straight to Win2K. Something is probably wrong with the LILO.
I also tried to boot up from the CD again and press the F1 key to load up the help thing. I typed in rescue, and there was an option to reinstall the loader. So I did that and it said that it was reinstalled fine. But when I restarted, my computer went straight to Win2K.

What do I have to do so I can have a dual boot option?

BTW, on my C Drive is where my Win2K is, and G is where I installed Mandrake. Drive G is another hardrive.

Thank you

there's your problem: both OS's want to write to the master boot record. Win2k is the first disk, so that's the boot loader that is found first. you will need to put the linux disk in front of the Win2k disk, or you could book linux from the win2k boot loader, there should be a linux+winnt howto available at the Linux Documentation Project (

batakz- allow me to maybe help you out since i was once in your shoes.

I never had any success with LILO.

I had to use Grub.

Win2k is fine as your primary master
