Mandrake 10.0 shows blue lines in mplayer/totem

I use MDK 10.0 and have been very happy with it. I have used several distros, and really enjoy linux.

The only issue that I have with MDK 10.0 is that videos don't play correctly on my system. The sound plays fine, but all I get for video is a bunch of horizontal blue/green lines.

I was looking thorugh the forum earlier and found a solution. I beleive that it was to change a line in one of the config files to something like depth=16, or something like that. I recently had to reinstall 10.0, and now can't find that thread.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? I could sure use the help with this one.

TKS, Craig.

Did that solution work or did you just find it but never try it? I get similar problems on Arch when playing video with xcompmgr running. I did find a fix on the net, adding a line to xorg.conf but it never worked for me.

It did actually work for me. I just can't remeber what the file was that I edited. I believe that it was originally set to depth=8, and when I increased it, it worked with no hitches.
