MAN Pages..can I export to a text file?


If I wabnt to print out a MAN page, is there a way to export it to a standard ASCII text file?

you should be able to print a manpage as it exists already. I believe a manpage is already PS compliant and just troff'd for formatting. You should be able to do something like "man dd |lpr" and get a manpage printout of the 'dd' command.

that sounds about right to me.

if you DO want it as a text file just use

man ls > ls.man

DISCLAIMER: ls is NOT, i repeat NOT the only linux command.
